Halifax Port Authority Accessibility Plan and Feedback Process 2024 – 2027 (PDF)
We have a responsibility to ensure all members of the community benefit from the Port as a strategic national asset, and that services and infrastructure associated with port operations are accessible. We are committed to creating a barrier-free Port and ensuring that all people are treated with respect, dignity, and have opportunities to fully participate in port operations.
The Port of Halifax drives economic development in Nova Scotia, the Atlantic region and beyond, facilitating the movement of inbound and outbound cargo in an efficient and dependable supply chain, and welcoming hundreds of thousands of cruise guests from around the world.
Providing accessible port services and infrastructure touches on our guiding principles of being collaborative and engaged, future-focused, sustainable, and acting as a trusted partner. As we embark on the actions described in this Plan, we will continue to be led by collaboration, engagement, and meaningful communication, coming together as One Port City focused on the future needs of the port and surrounding community while growing in a sustainable way that meets future industry demands.
