David Cameron
Chair
David Cameron, ICD.D was appointed to the Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors in May 2017. He was elected Chair in June 2023. Prior to assuming the Chair’s role, Mr. Cameron served as Chair of the Board’s Audit & Risk and Human Resources & Compensation Committees, and as a member of its Infrastructure and Governance Committees. He has over 35 years’ experience practicing law principally in the area of civil litigation, including insurance defence, labour and employment issues, and commercial suits. He also provides advice to self-governing professions and clients on public policy or governance matters.
Currently, Mr. Cameron serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Lawyers Financial Advisory Services Inc., as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of The Canadian Bar Insurance Association, and recently retired from the board of The National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities.
Carole-Ann Moran-Miller, PhD

Carole-Ann Moran-Miller is an accomplished bilingual CEO with a proven track record nationally and internationally. She was appointed to the Board of Directors for a three-year term in May 2017 and was elected Vice-Chair in September 2019. She was reappointed for a second three-year term in February 2021.
Dr. Moran-Miller co-founded Camsa Inc., a leading Canadian financial technology-enabled firm, and served as its CEO for 21 years. During her tenure, Camsa provided over a billion dollars in innovative financing directly to support over 900 clients, enabling them to sell goods and services to over 1,500 buyers in 40 countries. This experience gives her a deep understanding of global trade and supply chain logistics. Numerous awards have acknowledged her success and business acumen. This includes being a five-time recipient of the Atlantic Business Magazine Top 50 CEO award and a member of the Top CEO Hall of Fame. The Bank of Montreal also recognized her for Outstanding Innovation and Growth.
Carole-Ann's corporate background spans diverse leadership roles across various industries. Today, Dr. Miller is a well-recognized and sought-after scholar in early leader identity development and resiliency. Her distinguished corporate journey provides a rich foundation for her current academic pursuits. Her insights into leadership dynamics are now pivotal in her research and consultancy on posttraumatic growth, leader identity development, and regenerative resilience—where she translates her boardroom insights into strategies for fostering robustness within both organizations and the leaders of tomorrow.
Michelle Awad, QC
Director
Ms. Michelle Awad, QC, has been appointed to the Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors as a Municipal Director for a term of three years. Michelle Awad is a senior partner in the regional law firm, McInnes Cooper. She is a Fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Ms. Awad practices throughout Atlantic Canada in the areas of commercial litigation and arbitration, products liability, securities, risk management, shareholder disputes, defamation, commercial insurance and bonding, and disability and life insurance underwriting and claims.
André M. Boudreau, CPA, CA
Director
André Boudreau was appointed to the Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors in July 2019. Mr. Boudreau is a CPA and a member of the Institutes of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. Mr. Boudreau was an assurance partner and with PwC for over 37 years who recently retired as a partner of the firm. As a PwC partner, he was the engagement leader on various public companies, subsidiaries of international companies, a large number of family-owned enterprises, public-sector organizations, not-for-profit and charities in Atlantic Canada. He led the East Coast Energy Practice and the Private Company Services in Halifax with PwC. He is currently the CEO of ForwardFocus Consulting Inc.
In this role with PwC, Mr. Boudreau dealt with a variety of companies and organizations in various industries including Oil and Gas, fisheries, mining, renewable energy, rate regulated organizations, transportation, transhipment, marine supply companies, construction, fabrication, tourism, manufacturing, distribution and real estate. Mr. Boudreau has assisted in the preparation of feasibility studies, viability assessments and business plans for a number of large scale infrastructure and development projects in Atlantic Canada. He also assisted and advised on the development of the Offshore Royalty Regimes for certain provinces and the federal government. He currently provides business advisory and business coaching to a number of privately-owned companies.
Mr Boudreau has been involved with a significant number of public and private company boards over his career, and currently is a director with Family Business Association –Atlantic and Alderney Landing Association Group of related associations and on a number of advisory boards for family-owned companies.
Deanna Furlotte
Director
Ms. Deanna Furlotte is a senior executive with over 15 years experience developing business, strategic and financial insight in multiple business settings. She has extensive experience delivering profitable services to the not-for-profit sector. She was appointed to the Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors for a three-year term in February 2021.
Ms. Furlotte is Chief Operating Officer for Over The Edge Global, a special events company that provides signature fundraising events for non-profit organizations throughout North America. Prior to that, Ms. Furlotte was a manager with Gray & Associates Recruitment Services, looking after business development and account management in the London, England office. She has also worked as a Branch Manager with Kelly Services in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a Sales Development Consultant with Wells Fargo Financial across the United States and Canada.
Douglas W. Reid
Director
Douglas W. Reid, FPCA, FCA, ICD.D, was appointed to a three-year term starting in June 2023 by the Province of Nova Scotia. He is a member of Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Management’s Advisory Board to the Dean. He has held several senior positions with KPMG including Atlantic Managing Partner.
Mr. Reid has significant experience in management, regulatory compliance, financial services, corporate governance and is a respected strategic advisor. He was a partner with KPMG Canada from 1994 to 2022, and served as Atlantic Managing Partner from 1999 to 2008 and again from 2011 to 2022. He has over 40 years of experience in the transportation, mining, utilities, and manufacturing industries.
He serves as Director and Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University and is a member of the Independence Standing Committee of CPA Canada. He is a past director and board chair of the QEII Health Sciences Foundation, Symphony Nova Scotia and WPO Atlantic Canada.
