Port Community

In our port city, we want to encourage meaningful connections, promote cultural understanding, and contribute to our community. Our vision for One Port City is a collaborative environment where the city and port work together to reach their full potential and actively engage the community while moving toward goals for the future. Community connections are a key part of this vision.

• Port Community Liaison Committee
  The Port Community Liaison Committee (PCLC) is an important communication and engagement forum with the larger Halifax community. At the PCLC, we encourage information sharing between the Port and members of the public and receive direct feedback from those affected by Port operations and projects.
• Community Investment
  The Halifax Port Authority (HPA) is committed to contributing to the wellness, vitality, and prosperity of the local and surrounding communities within our region. Through the Community Investment Program, HPA supports organizations, programs and events, aligned with our values, through charitable donations, sponsorships and in-kind contributions.
• One Port City Day 
  One Port City Day is a free community event in the Halifax Seaport, celebrating our maritime culture and our valued partnerships within the port industry and broader community as we come together as One Port City.
