Changes to the Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors
June 15, 2023, Halifax, Nova Scotia – The Province of Nova Scotia has nominated Douglas W. Reid, FCPA, FCA, ICD-Rotman DEP as the Provincial Director on the Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors to hold office for a term of three years. He replaces Thomas J. Hayes, outgoing Provincial Director and Board Chair, who has reached the end of his term limit. David Cameron has been elected to the position of Board Chair.
Mr. Reid was a partner with KPMG Canada from 1994 to 2022, and served as Atlantic Managing Partner from 1999 to 2008 and again from 2011 to 2022. He has over 40 years of experience in the transportation, mining, utilities, and manufacturing industries. He serves as Director and Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University and is a member of the Independence Standing Committee of CPA Canada. He is a past director and board chair of the QEII Health Sciences Foundation, Symphony Nova Scotia and WPO Atlantic Canada.

We are fortunate to have him join the Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors,” said David Cameron, Board Chair. “At the same time, we thank Tom Hayes for his dedicated contributions to the Halifax Port Authority over the past nine years including his guidance and leadership during his time as Chair. Tom has been with the Port through a period of remarkable transformation, and we wish him well.”
In addition to David Cameron, Doug Reid joins Vice-Chair Carole-Ann Moran-Miller and Directors Michelle Awad, Andre Boudreau, and Deanna Furlotte.
