Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market moving to the former Cunard Centre

March 10, 2022, Halifax, Nova Scotia – The Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market will take over a portion of Pavilion 23 – formerly known as the Cunard Centre – in the Halifax Seaport district in July 2022. The Market will continue sharing its temporary location at Pavilion 22 with cruise operations beginning April 11 until the July relocation. Cruise vendors will be welcomed back to Pavilion 22 for the summer and fall.

“Initially, we were planning to create an open-air outdoor space for the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market for the warmer months, and operate out of Pavilion 22 over winter,” said Nick Garside, Director, Real Estate, Halifax Port Authority. “When space became available, we decided to look at whether that would work for our vendors and the Halifax Seaport District, and overwhelmingly, our vendors were supportive of this idea. We are now working with a designer to create a welcoming and engaging environment that will serve as a weekend farmers’ market and an event space during the week.”

The new space will occupy approximately 18,000 sq. ft. of Pavilion 23 located in the west end of the space. The Halifax Port Authority is working to fill the remainder of Pavilion 23 with tenants that complement the Halifax Seaport district.
