Port of Halifax receives top-rated cruise destination award
September 19, 2016, Halifax, Nova Scotia – The Port of Halifax has been recognized as a top rated Canada-US cruise destination by Cruise Critic.
The 2016 Cruisers’ Choice Destination Awards announced by Cruise Critic list the Port of Halifax as one of the top five Canada-US cruise destination. The awards are based entirely on ratings submitted with reviews published on CruiseCritic.com. A recent economic impact report released by the Halifax Port Authority found the cruise industry in Halifax is worth an estimated $104.3 million in economic benefit for the local economy. This includes passenger spending on tourism-related activities as well as provisioning associated with cruise vessels. Halifax is a full-service port that is able to offer a full range of goods and services across the entire marine industry.
