Port of Halifax to Host Inaugural Community Event

September 9, 2022, Halifax, Nova Scotia – Celebrate our maritime culture at the first ever One Port City Day on Saturday, September 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic Halifax Seaport.

One Port City Day is an all-ages event filled with family-friendly activities, vessel exhibits, and information on career pathways and opportunities within the port community.

The festivities include train rides through the Seaport on CN’s Little Obie, the Discovery Centre’s Bubble Bike, face painting, bouncy castles, concessions, and live music and keg bowling at Garrison Brewing. The PIER (Port Innovation, Engagement and Research) will open its doors for guided tours.

The event will feature vessel displays including the CCGS Hare Bay, Miawpukek Horizon Maritime Services Polar Prince, Atlantic Pilotage Authority, and a tugboat water show provided by Atlantic Towing.

Exhibitors include CN, PSA Halifax, Canadian Coast Guard, Commissionaires Nova Scotia, Halifax Regional Police, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and Nova Scotia Community College.

We would like to recognize and thank CN and PSA Halifax for their generous support.

Due to traffic considerations and limited parking, people are asked to consider transit, active transportation, or carpooling as part of their planning process for the day.
