Public Walkway along the South End Container Terminal at the Port of Halifax
December 14, 2020, Halifax, Nova Scotia – The public walkway along the South End Container Terminal at the Port of Halifax is now complete and public access is restored. The terminal is operated by PSA Halifax. The walkway was closed during the construction phase of the 135-metre extension.
The walkway was also extended as part of the project and allows members of the public the opportunity to see first hand cargo operations at PSA Halifax, including the arrival and departure of the largest containerized cargo ships to visit any Canadian port. Harbour watchers are encouraged to visit the Vessel Forecast Summary section of the Port of Halifax Online Operations Centre for the latest information on vessel arrivals and departures.
The public walkway will remain open until snow starts to accumulate and then it will be closed seasonally until Spring 2021.
