Seaport District Reactivation Continues

July 17, 2020, Halifax, Nova Scotia – The reactivation of the Halifax Seaport District continues this weekend. On Saturday, the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market is welcoming back grocery item vendors to the mix. This is in addition to permanent stall prepared food vendors and produce vendors who have already returned. The hours of operation for the Saturday Seaport Market have been adjusted; the Market will now operate from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside and out, with preference being given to senior citizens and those with health considerations during the first hour of operation. The next phases of reopening will focus on reintroducing prepared food table vendors and finally artisan vendors.

Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market building hours of operation:

  • Monday and Tuesday - Closed
  • Wednesday and Thursday - 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Friday - 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday - 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. (rooftop patio unavailable on Saturday)
  • Sunday - 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.

In addition to the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market, several businesses located within the Halifax Seaport District have also reopened to the public or changed their operations to accommodate safety needs during this time of physical and social distancing. This includes expanded patio space at Garrison Brewing and Tomavinos Ristorante, the return of events to the Westin Nova Scotian and the reopening of the lobby lounge along with their available guest rooms, and the reopening of the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, the Discovery Centre, and Mary E. Black Gallery.
