Port Information Guide
The Port Information Guide is made pursuant to the Canada Marine Act section 56 subsection (1) (b), having been developed through participatory means with public agencies, stakeholders and users of the Port of Halifax.
The Halifax Port Authority’s Port Information Guide is designed to provide port users with a single point of reference for port operational procedures and practices. These practices and procedures are applicable to all vessels operating in the waters of the Port.
These Practices and Procedures have been developed for the purpose of promoting safe and effective use, navigation and environmental stewardship within the Port of Halifax.

Updates and Amendments
The practices and procedures govern a dynamic marine operations environment and are updated regularly to reflect international best practices. Under normal circumstances, notice will be given as far in advance as practical but will be no less than thirty (30) days. An emergency amendment may be made to these practices and procedures without notice.
